Avoiding Shifts- Exercise 3

Directions: Revise each sentence to correct the faulty shift (underlined). When you are finished, click the "Check My Work" button at the bottom of the page to check your answers.

1.  Catherine waved her hand at the hat, and the rabbit appears.



2.  When the conductor was welcomed by the orchestra, the crowd cheered loudly.



3.  Buy a new car, but you should bargain with the salesperson for a good price.



4.  Paranoia is when a person thinks someone is always checking on him.



5.  Mr. Jones entered the room, and his class was taught very well that day.
